Amy Arndt is a native Lincolnite, graduating from Lincoln High School. She graduated from nursing school in 1994 from Southeast Community College and began working as a registered nurse on the orthopedic and physical rehabilitation unit at Lincoln General Hospital. She worked there for eight years as an RN and at the same time completed her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing at Nebraska Wesleyan and Masters in Nursing at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.

In May of 2016, she completed her Doctorate of Nursing Practice at University of Missouri-Kansas City. She became a family nurse practitioner in 2003 and has worked in the same role at Fallbrook Family Health Center since that time. Her professional passions include mental health, diabetes care, women’s health and contraception, and transgender patient care. She is also committed to a quality precepting experience for nurse practioner students and has precepted for them regularly since 2004.

She has been active in the Nebraska Nurse Practitioners with planning the state conferences and leading the local Lincoln Nurse Practitioner Journal Club. She is married with three boys and in her spare time enjoys reading and traveling.
